Most folks who know Dr. Michael A. Civin, Ph.D., know him as a clinical psychologist in New York City. And a lot of people do know him. He has been a major player in New York’s psychological services industry for the bulk of his career, which has run almost 30 years now. Over that time, Dr. Michael Civil has practiced psychology, but he has also served as a professor or other faculty member at several universities and other institutes of higher learning. His research and writing has been published in many journals and he has written chapters in a number of books.

Dr. Michael A Civin, Ph.D was a co-founder of Rose Hill Psychological Services in 2007, and he is still a senior psychologist there. Simultaneously, Dr. Civin also works from a private practice that serves patients in the Astoria, Manhattan, and Bayville areas of New York City. At its heart, Dr. Michael Civin’s career features a lot of education. He earned an A.B. Degree from Harvard in 1968, then attended the Albert Einstein College of Medicine the very next year. He followed that by earning his first Master of Arts degree from the University of Oregon in 1970 and his second M.A., this time in Clinical Psychology from the Gordon F. Derner Institute of Advanced Psychological Studies at Adelphi University in 1986. He then earned a Ph.D. from Adelphi and a medical degree from the Pennsylvania Institute of Straight Chiropractic in 1988.

Currently, Michael A. Civin, Ph.D. continues to accept and treat new and long-time patients all over New York. He is proud to do so with the greatest care possible. He founded Rose Hill Psychological Services about a decade ago to offer the best possible psychological services that were affordable to people who lived in underserved communities and that practice is thriving.
